Jo is an exceptional fundraiser with over ten years experience of raising funds for non-profit organisations, including raising multiple six- and seven-figure gifts from private foundations, companies, individuals and statutory bodies. Recent projects have included interim management for the partnerships team at Maggie’s; research, case for support development and proposal writing for an independent school in Nottingham; proposal writing for the Canal & River Trust; brochure and report writing for the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew; fundraising advice for a national social enterprise, Future First; and proposal writing for a Bristol-based social enterprise.

Prior to becoming a fundraising consultant and freelance grant writer, Jo was Major Giving Manager at the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew. As part of the senior fundraising team, she was involved in the planning and execution of a major fundraising campaign to raise £100 million from major donors in the UK and internationally. The largest gift she raised during the campaign was a £10.5 million grant from the Big Lottery Fund.

Jo has also worked at a number of UK charities, including the national domestic violence charity, Refuge; Breakthrough Breast Cancer and UNICEF.

Jo has a degree in International History and Politics from Leeds University and Russian from the University of Westminster. She also has an MPhil in Russian and East European Studies from Oxford University.
